In Memoriam: Derrell Gee

Derrell Gee
January 12, 1944-July 16, 2010

Derrell Gee was the longest tenured agent at T. Okamoto & Co., having served the Japanese American and Chinese American San Francisco Bay Area populations for over 37 years. Derrell's specialties were single family homes and small income properties and he was considered by his peers to be one of the friendliest agents. He was also highly regarded for his tenacity, and always said that once he got a property in escrow, it would close.

Derrell served on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Association of Realtors and the Chinese Real Estate Association of America. At the San Francisco Association of Realtors he chaired the 3 on 3 Basketball fund raiser for the Kimochi Inc and the Japanese Cultural & Community Center and chaired the Community Service Committee, the Education Committee and the Asian Council.

Derrell's hobbies included fishing, basketball and pool. He was a resident of Mill Valley and is survived by his wife, Yong, and four children.
